More than 200 years ago, Costa Rica exported coffee to the world for the first time. This milestone marked the beginning of the economic and social development of a country that was taking its first steps towards the independence in 1821. Coffee was one of the great drivers of the social and educational reforms that later transformed the independent Costa Rica into a country full of opportunities for all Costa Ricans.
Thank you for being witness of the capacity for transformation and evolution that coffee generated in our country, and although today the circumstances for our nation have changed, the truth is that thanks to coffee, Costa Rica managed to develop, strengthening its great democratic base, offering well-being to thousands of families throughout the national territory, who saw in this product a realfor their growth within society.
