Welcome to the ZHAW Coffee Excellence Center!
The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) Coffee Excellence Center is a leading academic institution in the science and technology of coffee, from crop to cup. We collaborate with a wide range of research partners in analyzing coffee through the lens of applied science, and aim to share knowledge and promote innovation through our graduate certificate programmes.
Our online Certificate of Advanced Studies in Coffee Excellence is a 15-month programme, comprising online lectures, virtual classrooms by recognized experts, group discussions, live lab sessions, and practical exercises at home, with a workload of 7 to 8 hours per week. The course enables you deepen your knowledge on the coffee value chain from crop to cup, through the lens of applied science. This programme is for coffee educators and disseminators of coffee knowledge, coffee professionals, leaders in the coffee sector, innovators involved in R&D on coffee, and persons who want to enter and grow in the coffee sector.
